Dr. Lan Lin is an Assistant Professor in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Children’s Hospital (CHOP) of Philadelphia and Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania (UPenn). Dr. Lin has an interdisciplinary training and research background in genomics, transcriptomics, RNA biology, molecular and evolutionary genetics.

She received her B.S. degree from Peking University (PKU) in China (2001).  She conducted her doctoral research in cellular and molecular biology with Dr. Tomas Ganz in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pathology at UCLA (2001-2007). For her postdoctoral training, Dr. Lin worked with Dr. Beverly Davidson and Dr. Yi Xing at the University of Iowa, where she investigated the regulation and functional impact of mRNA isoform expression using genomic technologies (2007-2012). From 2013 to 2018, Dr. Lin worked as an Associate Researcher in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics and led an independent research program in RNA genomics.

Dr. Lin’s current research interest is to study RNA epitranscriptomics in human diseases including cancer.
